Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2026
In short
- We only collect the information you choose to give us, or that we need to help you.
- We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- Information about the families and children we support is kept strictly confidential.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your information.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Living Free Society (Reference No. 8978065-7), a welfare organisation based at House # PD-495, Christian Colony, Nazamabad, Pindora, Rawal Town, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Living Free Society. We are responsible for the personal information described here.
2. Information we collect
When you contact us through the website, by phone or by email: your name, email address, phone number and whatever you write in your message.
When you apply to volunteer: your name, contact details, the kind of help you would like to give, and anything you tell us about your skills and availability.
When you donate: your name, contact details, the amount and date of your donation, and the payment reference. We do not receive or store your card or bank account numbers; those are handled by your bank.
When you ask us for help, or we assess a family for one of our programmes: the information needed to understand your situation and provide support, such as household members, the ages and schools of children, and your circumstances. We only ask for what we genuinely need.
Technical information: like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. These logs are used only for security and to keep the site working.
3. How we use your information
- to reply to your questions and messages;
- to consider and organise volunteering;
- to assess need and deliver our programmes, such as school fee support, child care and monthly groceries;
- to record, acknowledge and account for donations;
- to keep proper records and meet our legal and regulatory obligations;
- to keep this website secure and working properly.
We will never use your information for unrelated marketing, and we will only send you updates about our work if you have asked us to.
4. Children and families we support
Many of the people we help are children and families in difficult circumstances. We take particular care with their information:
- it is used only to provide and manage the support they receive;
- it is seen only by the people in our organisation who need it to do that work;
- we never publish names, photos or stories of the people we support without their informed consent, and for children, the consent of a parent or guardian;
- we never use anyone’s hardship for publicity.
This website is not designed for children to use on their own, and we do not knowingly collect information online from children without a parent’s or guardian’s involvement.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We only share it:
- with our web hosting and email providers, who deliver form messages to us and keep the site running, and who may only use the information for that purpose;
- with schools or other organisations, only where this is needed to provide support you have asked for (for example, paying a child’s school fees directly to the school), and only with your agreement;
- where the law requires it, for example if requested by a court or government authority.
6. Cookies and third-party services
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Two pages use services from Google:
- Google Fonts provides the lettering on this site;
- Google Maps shows our location on the Contact page.
When these load, Google may receive your IP address and may set its own cookies. Google’s use of that information is covered by its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
7. How we keep it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Paper records are stored securely, digital records are kept on password-protected accounts, and access is limited to people who need it. No website or system can be completely secure, so please do not send highly sensitive information, such as identity card numbers, through the contact form; we will ask for it in a safer way if we need it.
8. How long we keep it
- General messages: for as long as needed to deal with them, normally no longer than one year.
- Volunteer applications: while you volunteer with us, and for up to one year after.
- Donation records: for as long as we are required to keep financial records by law.
- Records of support provided: while support continues and for as long as needed for accountability afterwards.
After that, we securely delete or destroy the information.
9. Your rights and choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law;
- stop contacting you.
To do any of these, email ceo@livingfreesociety.cfd or call +92 313 6108891. We will reply as soon as we can, and within 30 days. There is no charge.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
